Here are two of my best images, I took when trying out a new style, I wanted to light different areas of my chosen subject in different light to create a atmospheric feel and make the object come to life in different way to how it does in the day. I feel the result are good and I intend to use this style on a more bigger and interesting subject, i will say however there are not as focused as i like them and I did have to adjust the colours after in photoshop, but now i’ve learnt my lesson and i can hopefully not make these mistakes again. How I did it: I set up my camera on a tripod in daylight and set the focus and shutter speed, framing and aperture, so I didn't have to do this in the dark.. when it came to shooting, I took two 30 seconds shots using a different light one red, one yellow and overlapping them in photoshop, why? so i didn't overexposed the image or over heat the camera sensor, and cause any pixels to burn , which can happen in one take, this is also a good way to do star trails, just take a few 30 seconds shoots and overlap them in photoshop you get a much crispier final image and avoid burn out pixels, it's a win-win Also I avoid pointing the light right onto my subject instead i moved the light around the subject to avoid over exposing it and also i feel that the results of reflecting the light is softer and less harsh. Camera set up: SHUTTER SPEED 30 sec APERTURE 8-10 ISO 200 LONG EXP on Try it out!
