Virgin MiFi - unlimited 3G wifi hotspot for $40/month

link shared Sep 4, 2010 • 3 comments • 1968 views

Virgin Mobile just started offering a better option for mobile internet access.   It's a MiFi card - a battery operated 3G wifi hotspot about the size of a credit card.    Verizon and Sprint offer the same hardware.   But Virgin Mobile's data plan is unique - no contract, unlimited data for $40 month.    Compared to the 2 year minimum contract, download limits and $60/month, this new offering is a game changer.

Best of all is the no contract part.   You can pay for any month you want to use - and skip paying for months when you don't need it.

Wow, this is really great but it could get a bit more cheaper and it would be a hit.

so it seems these puppies are selling like hotcakes. my dad had to make several stops in LA to find one because the nearby Best Buys and Radio Shacks were out of stock. the Best Buy that did have stock had only 3 in the back that had just been delivered. the salesperson asked him if he wanted them all because they fly off the shelf so fast. Virgin's website is "out of stock" and they're overpriced on eBay.
