70% of US and coalition deaths in Afghanistan have been in IED bomb attacks. When found, soldiers must stop or destroy these bombs, hopefully without being blown up themselves.
Cell phones are frequently used as a remote trigger for these bombs.
This simple picture captures what was likely a harrowing experience with happy ending.
