Page Excerpt
Well, the second half of December and the first half of January whizzed by in a blur of visits with family and friends. I managed one little New Year post but did so little reading that by Saturday I was only up to Chapter 5 of this month's book, One Day by David Nicholls. I had two days to read the remaining 18 chapters. The pressure! Thankfully grandparents are visiting and took the kids out for the day. I finished the book by 5pm yesterday, with 2 and a half hours to spare!
I was glad there wasn't much time before I could debrief about the book because as much as I loved it, for the wit and complicated characters and unexpected events, it raised so many issues that demanded discussion (for me, at least).
