New Music Monday - Harry Shearer's Can't Take A Hint
Combining music and comedy, Harry Shearer releases Can't Take A Hint on August 27, 2012.
Harry is not just a comedian, voice of many characters from The Simpsons, radio show host (syndicated Le Show) and documentary filmmaker (The Big Uneasy). Fans of This is Spinal Tap know Harry Shearer has musical chops.
While the jokes are the show, Shearer (along with an impressvie guest line up) makes sure the music isn’t just a prop.
Shearer sings five out of thirteen tracks, handing the rest over to Dr. John, Jamie Cullum, Rob Brydon, Alice Russell, Tommy Malone, Jane Lynch, and his wife, Judith Owen. Fountains of Wayne play back-up; jazz trumpeter Nicholas Payton and guitar aces Jeff “Skunk” Baxter and Steve Lukather also contribute.
Can’t Take a Hint is serious musicianship along with political satire.
