The Fiat EYE raises more questions than it answers…
People have been all to eager to consign the Segway to the dustbin of history. And yet, with positively gyroscopic momentum, it refuses to die. Here Brazilian designer Dinard da Mata has come up with a Segway-based, electric-powered, personal city vehicle.
The Design Blog says "the gyroscopically balanced vehicle also includes sensor technology and control software to ensure perfect controls…[i]ncluding the voice command and biometric reading sensors."
Cryptically, the blog also notes that "the personal mobility concept eliminates the physical occupancy of the rider to offer a comfortable and controlled ride, while presenting a clear view of the surroundings." Just who is taking in that clear view is not at all clear, since actually occupying the vehicle doesn't seem to be part of the program.
But that's not my main concern. What I want to know is, how does it run on those rad elliptical wheels? Ride must be a tad bumpy, eh?
